A Test Drive Experience of the New Model

Are you ready to experience the future of electric cars? Today, I had the opportunity to test drive the upgraded Tesla Model 3. I can't wait to share my experience with you. It was a very enjoyable experience, and I encourage everyone to test drive this amazing car. As a proud owner of a Model 3 since December 2019, I'm quite familiar with the vehicle's ins and outs. The upgraded Model 3 is a fantastic driving experience and the car looks slightly different.

Upgraded Model 3 Exterior Redesign

The exterior has been redone with improved front and rear design, featuring a smaller front bumper and a more streamlined appearance. The interior has also been revamped with an updated center console for rear passengers and an updated dashboard design.

Rainy Test Drive Experience

When I arrived at the service center, it was drizzling. I wondered how this would affect my driving experience. The upgraded Model 3 handled very well in the rain. The car had a basic Autopilot, which ensured that I was as safe as possible during the test drive. All Tesla vehicles come with free basic Autopilot.

New Steering Wheel and Controls

There were a few points the service associate had to explain to me before I started my test drive.

The Tesla employee made sure I understood how to engage the vehicle to drive, reverse, and park.

This is an unusual experience in the upgraded Model 3 because the steering wheel has all the controls you would expect in the stalk. The older Model 3 had a steering wheel flanked by two stalks, but the upgraded Model 3 simplifies the driving experience by eliminating both stalks.

All the functionality is now on the steering wheel, as well as on the screen in the center of the vehicle. This was very intuitive and easy to understand.

Once I practiced it, it became second nature. I think using the stalk is more challenging than Tesla's upgraded vehicle. This method allows you to place the car into drive, park, or reverse with a quick touch on the brake pad while you swipe on the screen.

Video Recommendation

One of the most effective explanations of the redesigned system was recently published by Marques Brownlee. I highly recommend watching this video for a better understanding of how to use the new system:

Comfort and Enjoyment

If you watch Marques Brownlee’s review of the upgraded Model 3, you’ll notice he talks about the screen for backseat entertainment in the Tesla Model 3. The car has a new 8.0-inch touchscreen display for rear passengers, which allows them to control climate settings and even watch Netflix. This addition enhances the overall entertainment experience for backseat passengers.

Dog Mode

Brownlee also noted that the car had cooled or heated seats. This provides a comfortable and cool experience in hot or cool weather. This feature is particularly useful for maintaining a pleasant driving experience in warm climates.

Safety in the Rain

As I’m writing this article, it continues to rain and pour down in Austin, Texas. This is just as it rained when I did the test drive. Tesla vehicles are so safe in the rain because of the computerized sensing that they have to adjust the response of each wheel and motor. This is to ensure maximum safety for the driver.

The vehicle I test-drove was a dual-motor Model 3. It performed very well on wet roads.

Pricing and Availability

The dual-motor all-wheel drive Model 3 sells for $42,990* with standard features.

The single-motor rear-wheel drive Model 3 sells for $35,990* with standard features.

*Prices above are from February 2024, in the USA and include potential incentives and gas savings of $3,000.

I highly recommend anyone who wants to order the single motor to do it as soon as possible, as the single motor is not yet in the delivery phase (at the time of writing this article). The sooner an order is placed for this vehicle, the more likely a customer is to receive it sooner rather than later.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Tesla makes test drives easy and fun. The most efficient way to decide if you like a vehicle is to test drive it. To purchase a vehicle, you will also need to make sure everything is in place for your lease or loan. Xcelerate has generously supported me in writing these articles. I highly recommend you check out what they have to offer for you, so you can own your dream Tesla or other EV. The good thing about Xcelerate is their leases, loans, and warranties are exclusively for electric vehicles only. They help to accelerate the transition to a world where all cars are electric.
